How User Experience and Web Design Go Hand in Hand

We’ve all been there… scrolling through Google looking for a reputable business. What do we judge them on? Their website. Plain and simple: if your website design is lacking in some basic strategy, your user experience becomes negative.

Why User Experience Is Important

The easiest way for a business to lose website traffic is to be inconsiderate of how the website user will react to their website. In general, the bounce rate of a website is directly related to the reaction of the user to the site. This is where User Experience, or UX, comes into play. Let’s break down what UX is at its core.

UX: User Experience Design is focused on the beginning to end of attracting someone’s eye on a website and maintaining the interest thereafter. This includes branding, design, usability, and functionality.

Simple Tips for Improving UX

This leads to the big question: how do you ensure UX design is on your website? Below I’ve listed some tips on how to pin-point basic UX design principles.

  • Site Speed: If your site is slow, this is a no brainer! Your visitors have a higher risk of getting frustrated and leaving your site.
  • Clear Navigation: If your users can’t find the information they’re looking for on your site, they’ll go to a different site where they can find it easier.
  • Mobile-Friendly Websites: According to WhatstheBigData.com, 85.38% of website users in North America come from mobile devices.
  • Content Quality: If your images are unclear, or your copy is not for the benefit of your user, this is a simple way to again lose the interest of your viewers.

In 2024, UX is vital to the success of your website. If you’ve followed the tips above and are still looking for an increase in the number of visitors that stick to your site, reach out to a professional website designer to reach your online marketing goals.
